WDH1U10000N - Will Western Digital's 1TB Hard Drive Be Enough?
Western Digital has come out with a new external hard drive in the My Book Essential series - the 1TB external hard drive WDH1U1000N. This is the perfect solution for anyone looking for more storage whether its a means of backing up your current data or if you are running out of disk space.
The WDH1U1000N is compact in size similar to an average paperback book. In fact, if you look closely its design is very similar to an average novel. Dont judge a book by its cover (no pun intended). This one hard drive can store all the information in your entire photo, audio and video collection. Wouldn't that be a lot more convenient than constantly seeing those warnings about running low on disk space or degraded performance.
The WDH1U1000N has broken the storage barrier as being one of the first hard drives to store 1 TB of storage at an affordable price in a small size. The storage space of this My Book Essentials edition is mind-boggling. You can hold upto a 250,000 songs in MP3 format, as many as 285,000 photos; and even upto 120 hours of high quality HD video.

Sleek and Quiet
This WDH1U10000N went beyond my expectations as soon as I plugged it in. It amazes me that a 1TB external hard drive can be this quiet. I had returned a different 1TB hard drive because that sounded like a jet engine. Western Digital clearly fixed that problem.
Lets not forget that the design is stylish and sleek. It transfers data at warp speed, does it quietly and smoothly over a USB 2.0 port.

Very Good Product!!!
I have had this Western Digital 1TB hard drive for over 6 months and not had any problems so far. Quite often I unplug this HD directly from my desktop with no problems with lost data or error messages and I have no problem storing or transferring data to/from it. It has a well thought-out design because you can store it vertically to allow additional hard drives to be stacked adjacently, or placed horizontally without any wires getting snagged or yanked out. I dont have anything bad to say...it works as advertised, it looks great, and plugs right in with no issues. FYI, I run a Dell XPS with Vista and an older Toshiba laptop with XP, no problems on either machine.
